Australian Federal Police have seized AU$9.3m ($6.4m) in an investigation into a crime syndicate linked to an encrypted communications app called Ghost. The assets were seized after 32-year-old Jae Jae Yoon Jung was arrested and charged with several counts of supporting organized crime. The crypto was discovered after task force specialist Jung analyzed the “pedigree” in the accounts he created. The operation, conceived as part of “Operation Kraken” at the AFP, is a major step forward in the organization's efforts to seize criminal assets through sophisticated digital forensics.
