A hacker who allegedly stole an estimated $20 million in crypto assets from the US government was traced back to a government address with $19 million, blockchain sleuth ZachXBT reports.

On Thursday, a wallet believed to be controlled by US authorities was hacked and nearly $20 million worth of crypto assets were stolen. The hacked wallet is linked to assets previously seized in the infamous Bitfinex hack.
According to a report from blockchain analytics firm Arkham Intelligence, the stolen funds included various stablecoins such as aUSDC, USDT and USDC, as well as Ethereum (ETH).
The hacker is said to have transferred the stolen assets to a new wallet address and started laundering the proceeds of the suspicious transaction. Blockchain investigators found that the money moved from decentralized lending platforms like Aave before being sent to the attacker's wallet.
This is a growing story.
