A trading receives a Dutch, offshore EU crypto future
Netherlands-based digital asset exchange One Trading has received an organized trading institution license from the Dutch Financial Markets Authority (AFM). With that license, the exchange will be able to introduce a number of new financial products to Europe, including offshore crypto futures trading.
In addition, OneTrading will be the only perpetual futures trading platform in the EU and the first cash-settled perpetual platform in Europe, including the UK. OneTrading will also be the first regulated European derivatives exchange open to retail clients.
Blockchain enables trading to provide better trading services.
Maritime trade means domestic control. One trading CEO, Joshua Barraclough, said in a statement:
“The company's long-term vision is to enable all types of clients to go long or short on any asset, to use any asset as collateral, to settle everything immediately and to record contracts permanently.”
“With this license, we are well positioned to introduce new regulated products and provide institutional solutions for all types of clients, from BTC and ETH products to offshore EU regulated areas that currently do not exist,” he continued.
Thanks to distributed ledger technology, OneTrading implements real-time derivative transactions without external clearing. It was also the first EU platform to enable the use of crypto assets as collateral for trading regulated financial instruments.

One Trading was developed by Austria-based Bitpanda in 2019 and was known as Bitpanda Pro. It launched in June 2023 after raising 30 million euros ($32.5 million) in Series A funding led by Valar Ventures.

Valar Ventures was co-founded by PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel. It has also backed Bitpanda in three funding rounds. Other TL-backed crypto enterprises include Vald Exchange, BitDAO (now known as Mantle), and Praxis, which seeks to build a cryptocurrency-driven city somewhere in the Mediterranean. Praxis currently has 2,228 citizens and 146 registered companies.
In January, Bitpanda created Bitpanda Wealth for European institutions and high net worth individuals.
