Aave proposal clears first hurdle after paid vote.

Ave Founder Says $15M Token Purchase Was Not Used In Controversial Dao Vote

Aave's “Aave Will Win” framework bypasses Temp Check noise, clearing the first formal step of the protocol management process.

An off-chain instant vote on Sunday closed with 52.58% in favor, 42% against and 5.42% abstentions. The result raises the measure to the Aave Request for Final Comment (ARFC) stage, where terms can be revised before any binding chain vote.

The framework requires tokenholders to approve up to $42.5 million in stablecoin and 75,000 Aave (AAVE) tokens for Aave Labs. In return, the company transfers 100% of its revenue from Ave-branded products to the Aave DAO treasury in a DAO-funded operating model.

The protocol reflects a narrowly margined decentralized governance base while accounting for structural changes in finance, revenue alignment, and long-term development.

The ARFC level will determine whether concerns raised during the debate will translate into revisions before a formal Aave amendment proposal is presented up the chain.

A split vote indicates ongoing management tensions

In a post on X, Aave founder Stany Kulekov added that TempCheck will bring the protocol closer to a “fully token-centric model” and that structural improvements based on community feedback will be included in the ARFC standard.

Critics have previously questioned the size of the funding package and its inclusion of 75,000 AAVE tokens, which carry voting power.

Others called for clearer definitions and stricter disclosure standards around management holdings.

In the year

ACI has published a transparency report that reviews Aave Labs' historical funding, and describes Ave Labs' role in developing the protocol since 2017.

What happens next in the Ave management process?

Under Aave's governance framework, suggestions often move from Temp Check to ARFC to an on-chain Aave Improvement Proposal (AIP) vote. Only AIPs executed on chain are binding.

If the proposal moves beyond the ARFC, tokenholders will formalize the DAO-backed model and approve Aave V4 as a long-term technical foundation.

How the result will shape Aave's ecosystem structures, revenue and brand stewardship.
