PolitiFi meme coins were up sharply late Saturday, with MAGA ( TRUMP ) and Super Trump ( STRUMP ) and Donald Trump ( TREMP ) gaining more than 37%, 40% and 46%, respectively.
The shooting incident at the Trump rally
The surge in Trump-related meme coins follows an incident involving former US President Donald Trump. Trump survived what appeared to be an assassination attempt at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday.
The Secret Service rushes the former president off the stage and takes him to the hospital, where blood can be seen in Trump's ear. A rally attendee died and another was taken to hospital in critical condition. And the shooter died.
MAGA, STRUMP tokens are increasing.
MAGA rose above $8.20, while STRUMP and TREMP rose to $0.012 and $0.55 to lead PolitiFi earnings.
Other tokens also rose, with Constitutional DAO, MAGA HAT and BABYTRUMP all up significantly. Meanwhile, Joe Biden, a meme coin associated with US President Joe Biden, fell 12 percent as news of the crash hit markets.
