ai16z’s Eliza Labs publishes a white paper on Web3-native AI agents.
Eliza Labs, the developer behind ai16z, has published a white paper outlining its vision for Web3-native artificial intelligence agents, the Web3 AI Project said on January 14.
The 20-page document describes ai16z's AI agent toolkit, Eliza, which it aims to be “an elegant agent framework that can seamlessly integrate Web3 applications with AI agent functionality.”
In the year Launched in 2024, Eliza is “designed to support AI agents that can read and write blockchain data, interact with smart contracts, and more,” the white paper says.
Ultimately, Eliza Labs expects to create Web3-native AI agents capable of autonomously analyzing data and executing trades.
“Individual investors desperately need a system to manage their portfolios and execute smart operations and trades,” the white paper says.
Open-source AI agent operating systems such as Eliza “will democratize access to advanced AI functionality, significantly lowering the barrier to entry for the general public.”

The rise of the agency AIS
Industry executives expect AI agents to transform the Web3 by 2025, with cryptocurrency trading as the first use.
Agentic AIs – machines that autonomously pursue complex goals – are already shaping the digital economy, building Web3 applications, launching tokens, and interacting with people personally.
In the year By 2025, “AI agents are expected to play a more significant role in decentralized societies,” JD Serafin, CEO of Web3 AI developer Raiinmaker, told Cointelegraph.
As of December, Web3 hosted nearly 10,000 AI agents and earned millions of dollars from onchain activities every week, according to VanEck's report. By the end of 2025, more than 1 million AI agents are expected to populate blockchain networks.

In the year By 2024, tokens tied to AI agents will reach $10 billion in market capitalization, especially in Q4, according to CoinGecko.
The ai16z project's native token AI16Z performed particularly well. Since its launch in October, AI16Z has launched a market capitalization of nearly $1.4 billion, according to CoinGecko.
Ai16z describes itself as “the first investment DAO [decentralized autonomous organization] led by AI agents” as stated on the website.
The Eliza operating system leverages more than a dozen Web3 AI agents, such as the Elizaver Observatory, a community-driven dashboard.
