Anthroponic, the AI research company behind cloud chatbots, is looking to raise $10 billion in a pre-investment valuation of $350 billion, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The proposed funding nearly doubles the company's estimate four months ago and marks the largest private capital raising in the AI sector this year.
Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC and technology-focused hedge fund Koatu Management are expected to lead the round, although talks are ongoing and final terms are subject to change.
The financing follows a $13 billion investment in September that values Anthropoc at $183 billion, making it the third mega-funding in the AI industry in the past year.
The new capital will be in addition to planned investments of up to $15 billion from Nvidia and Microsoft. As part of that arrangement, Anthropic has committed to buy $30 billion of Microsoft's Azure computing power, which runs on Nvidia's AI systems.
In the year Founded in 2021 by Dario Amodei and Daniela Amodei, Anthroponic has raised tens of billions of dollars to date and is expected to pursue an initial public offering this year.
