The film chronicles the rise and fall of crypto exchange FTX and its founder, Sam Bankman-Fried.

The project, which is currently in production, set Apple's record-breaking $5 million mark for Michael Lewis' book in September 2023, surpassing any previous major film rights acquisition.

In the year Founded in 2019, FTX has grown to become one of the world's largest crypto exchanges before collapsing in 2022 when customers found billions of dollars missing when they attempted mass withdrawals.

Bankman-Fried was later charged with fraud and money laundering.

Michael Lewis spent a lot of time with Bankman-Fried before the collapse of FTX, accompanying the former billionaire, including an FTX party in the Bahamas and even a house arrest.

Lewis's book, released in October 2023, quickly became a New York Times bestseller, giving readers an in-depth look at Bankman-Fried's life and the events leading up to the FTX implosion.

Apple and A24's adaptation of Going Infinite is part of a continuing trend of high-profile products around Bankman-Fried and FTX.

Other streaming platforms, including Amazon, are ramping up sequels based on FTX's failure.
