Art gallery in Dubai to educate artists on NFTs, Web3
The 37xDubai art gallery, which will open to the public later in October, aims to educate artists and art lovers about non-volatile tokens (NFTs) and the wider Web3 ecosystem through workshops held at the gallery.
Cointelegraph sat down with Danilo Carlucci, founder of Morningstar Ventures and 37xDubai, an investment firm based in the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC). Carlucci talks about his goals in the new art gallery and why he is diving into NFTs and Web3 despite current market conditions.
Carlucci says the gallery is “an effort to connect art and technology in one place.” As a more traditional venture capital fund, the executive art gallery Morningstar Ventures aims to expand into the more innovative digital art and NFT space. he said:
“We have different types of digital art, but we also have NFTs on display. We don't just sell these hand-picked NFTs, but we teach people who visit our gallery what NFTs are.”
In addition to displaying NFTs in the gallery, the founder of 37xDubai revealed that the installation, inspired by the Tree of Life art, is using NFTs as a membership token.
The executive said he will support events and various workshops around the adoption of Web3 technology. He said the project has advisors from Binance NFT and Binance Charity to help with these efforts.

When asked why he is diving into NFTs, Carlucci explained why the NFTs in the gallery are different, expressing his confidence in the technology given the sentiment and data showing that the NFT market value is not what it used to be. While it is not an NFT-only gallery, he says he “believes in NFTs.” He also pointed out that NFTs in the gallery have a different goal than those created by tech companies.
“For the artists that we work with and handpick. The motivation is creativity. They want to create something, and they use blockchain technology occasionally for validation purposes and maybe sometimes for creative purposes, but the motivation is always creativity,” he explained.
