Created by Larva Labs' Matt Hall and John Watkinson, Autoglyphs emerged almost two years after they created Cryptopunks. Featuring 512 unique effects, Autoglyphs has quickly become one of the most coveted sets for generative art enthusiasts.
The set he got was one of only seven and one of three developers built directly by Larva Labs as part of the already famous “Old School Set”.
Autoglyphs have reached unprecedented heights
Autoglyphs have been widely admired, appearing in famous places such as the Center Pompidou and Sotheby's. In particular, the Center Pompidou, Europe's largest modern art museum, showed its digital works in its first exhibition on NFTs.
Two famous pieces, CryptoPunk #110 and Autoglyph #25, were even donated by the Center Pompidou, further strengthening the importance of Autoglyphs in digital art.
With over $50 million in secondary sales, Autoglyphs have established themselves as highly sought-after assets, and this latest acquisition only serves to solidify their place in blockchain art history.
In the year Launched in 2019, Autoglyphs represents the first “on-chain” generative art on the Ethereum blockchain. Unlike many NFTs that rely on off-chain storage, each autoglyph is independently verified in the blockchain for its uniqueness and ownership.
Created with a highly optimized algorithm capable of generating billions of unique artworks, Autoglyphs ceased production after 512 glyphs were created, leaving it available only on the secondary market.
