Base blockchain will get its own song and mint first single as NFT
Coinbase-powered blockchain Base announced on December 19th that it has partnered with blockchain music platform Sound.xyz, which will now allow artists to create music through the Base ecosystem.
According to Sound.xyz, who posted on X (formerly Twitter), since the base ecosystem is Ethereum Layer 2, the gas fees for making tracks using non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are cheap, and transactions are fast. These factors allow artists to upload and spend without buying crypto or tying up their funds, he said.
Base is Ethereum Layer 2, which means:

The first track, “Based,” a blockchain-themed song by artists Reo Cragun and Heno Base. The lyrics read, “We're bringing a billion in chains. Some people give up when times are tough, but they cry out to those around them.

Voice said the most significant benefit for the Web3 music scene would be “hitting” more than 100 million users on the basic network. He highlighted how music is a great gateway for “a whole new generation of users to get into the chain”.
