Beam wallet based on brightness to facilitate Amazon purchases through the join application

Beam wallet developer Echo has acquired Web3 shopping app integration, in an announcement on January 25. The new acquisition will allow Beam and Join to merge, facilitating Amazon and Shopify purchases for Beam Wallet users. Beam Wallet works on Optimum and Base networks.

According to a related X thread, Echo has set up a waiting list to roll out the new feature, which will begin in February. The wallet currently allows users to register using only a Twitter login, without the need to copy and store seed words. It uses stablecoins for both payments and gas payments.

Tom Dean, CEO and founder of Join, said the merger will enable Web3 stablecoin payments at a mainstream level.

“We built Join so that crypto can be used as a currency without waiting for the rest of the world to catch up. Constantly spending stablecoins was the first step, and joining directly with Beam drives this vision even further.” […] As the crypto ecosystem continues to grow and we are witnessing the start of the next cycle, it shows that seamless, user-friendly crypto payment experiences are finally ready for the global stage.

Joining was founded by Dean, Jawad Ayub and Brad Crook. It was originally funded by investor Balaji Srinivasan and a grant from Beth. Eco is backed by venture capital firms Andreessen Horowitz, Coinbase Ventures, Founders Fund, Lightspeed Venture Partners and Pantera Capital.

Beam Wallet is one of several new user-experience-focused wallets that try to avoid clan terms or native-coin gas charges. Others include Immutable Passport, which uses Google or Apple logins, and Kresus, which allows users to sign up with an email address. WorldCoin created a wallet that pays for gas to users.
