Between court dates, Donald Trump meets crypto enthusiasts for an NFT dinner.
Buyers of the “Mugshot” nonfungible token (NFT) released by Donald Trump have announced plans to meet the former US president for dinner at his Florida home.
On May 8, many crypto users on social media platforms claimed to meet Trump at his Mar-a-Lago home as part of a deal behind the purchase of digital business cards that show him handing over at the Fulton County Jail in Georgia. The event did not appear on Trump's website at the time of publication, although the platform where NFTs are sold is not directly linked to the campaign.
“There are some hexicans out there,” said X user Brandon Davis, referring to Richard Hart's Hex Blockchain supporters.
In the year After being indicted on charges of attempting to rig the 2020 election, Trump resigned in 2018. He surrendered to authorities in August 2023, marking the first mugging by a current or former US president. But the court is not in session Wednesday, when presiding judge Judge Juan Mershan is presiding over other cases.

As the first US president to face criminal charges, Trump has been running afoul of judges and prosecutors. The judge cited Trump's contempt 10 times for speaking to reporters and on social media about witnesses and court staff and said he would face jail time if he continued to do so.
It is unclear whether NFTs or crypto will be the topic of discussion at the Mar-a-Lago dinner. Trump has previously claimed not to own Bitcoin (BTC), but has accepted crypto payments for his brand of sneakers and other products. Cointelegraph reached out to the Trump campaign but did not receive a response at the time of publication.
Before he became the presumptive Republican nominee, Trump made a few public statements on crypto, including that he would “never allow” a U.S. central bank digital currency if elected president. He may face President Joe Biden in the November 2024 US presidential election.
