Popular free-to-play PC shooter Splitgate is the latest “Web2” game to get the Bitcoin treatment, paid startup ZBD has teamed up with game studio 1047 Games to integrate the Bitcoin Lightning Network into the game. That means players can earn bitcoins when playing in certain tournaments or on certain servers.

For starters, the companies are launching an online team tournament in December called the Splitgate Winter Invitational, which will award 0.5 Bitcoin (worth more than $19,000 as of this writing). Details about eligibility and how to register are in our news story.
