Bitmain Will Start Shipping The New Bitcoin Antminer T21 In January 2024

Bitmain, the leading global Bitcoin (BTC) application-specific integrated circuits (ASIC) manufacturer, has officially released its new air-cooled BTC miner, the Antminer T21.

Bitmain took to Twitter on October 26 to announce the world premiere of the new Antminer T21, the company's new air-conditioned miner that can withstand up to 45 degrees Celsius.

Xmei Lin, Bitmain's head of marketing, said the global release of the Antminer T21 took place at the Blockchain Life 2023 forum in Dubai, where Bitmain was a “diamond sponsor”.

Bitmain's new mining rig is expected to begin shipping in January 2024, a company spokesperson told Cointelegraph. The air-conditioned miner supports the SHA256 mining algorithm used for mining cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and fork coins like Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Bitcoin SV (BSV). On October 26, Canaan launched the A1466 and A1466I miners, which focus on sustainability in the Middle East. The new miners offer liquid-cooled and air-cooled options.

While companies like Canaan and Bitmain have rushed to introduce new mining equipment, the ASIC industry has seen some challenges in recent years. As previously reported by Cointelegraph, the price of ASIC miners dropped more than 80% by the end of 2021, as new miners continued to flood the market.

In the year In August 2023, blockchain technology firm Blockstream sought to raise $50 million to purchase and store mining equipment in anticipation of Bitcoin's halving in 2024.
