“BitMine is now worth about $3.3 billion in ETH at a current yield of 2.81%, which translates to about $94.4 million a year,” market analyst Nick Pukrin said.

“Obviously, bitcoin doesn't generate cash flow,” Pukrin added.

The event follows a tumultuous year for crypto-treasury companies, with some shedding more than 90% of their value from all-time highs.

BitMine Chairman Asks Shareholders to Approve 1000x Increase in Authorized Shares

In early January 2026, BitMine Chairman Tom Lee urged shareholders to vote yes on a proposal to increase the authorized share limit to 50 billion shares.

The proposal raises the number of shares BitMine is allowed to issue from 50 million to 50 billion – a 1000x increase.

Increasing the authorized share limit does not mean the company will issue these shares, Lee explained.

Raising the authorized share limit would accommodate future stock dividends, making Bitmine's share price more affordable at around $25 per share, he said.
