Bullying at Google’s entrance, putting up with deadly sticks
Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin recently raised some eyebrows on social media after giving his soft support for Google's automatic login feature. But because of his death, his writing got more attention.
Buterin's forum of choice seems to be Farcaster, where he interacts with other users on various topics. In mid-August, the popular developer hosted what it called an impromptu “AMA” (Ask Me Anything) when the topic of third-party authentication services like Google Login was brought up.

At that time, Buterin expressed concern about the implications of “normalizing” the idea of using services such as “Sign in with Google” in the cryptocurrency and blockchain industries. “I think this is very bad,” he wrote. However, he followed up by describing how login services can act as a bridge to secure systems through host-to-host authentication.
Later, on September 4, in response to skepticism about his Google-to-crypto bridge concept, Buterin admitted that there were drawbacks to the plan. But he stopped short of suggesting that such a bridge could still serve as a positive for adoption, saying it could be worth the risk.

Buterin's also spent a lot of time on social media creating ways to pretend cities give more power to people (and less to landowners), though one of his most popular posts lately is from a topic that tends to be a cause of death.
On the X social media app, user ThinkingWest posted a lengthy thread discussing the history of hybrids — specifically focusing on gun hybrids.
Buterin commented on the discussion in a post on Farcaster:
“Why don't people who casually say something like this on another app realize that there are prediction markets? You can have words backed up by a real threat of meaningful personal consequences, and it's more peaceful.”
Meanwhile, at X, the company's owner, Elon Musk, gave a more interesting response to the fight discussion.
