Casper shut down the network after a security breach
Casper Networks said it shut down the network after discovering a serious security breach.
Casper Network said in an update that the group is aware of the threat.
The Casper Association, Casper Labs, and validators/community are working together to fix the vulnerability.
Casper Network has suspended network operations following a security breach, the smart contracts blockchain platform announced via X.
In a statement aimed at users of the Casper Network and the wider crypto community, the Casper team said it worked with verifications to halt operations and minimize the potential impact of the breach.
“We have discovered a serious security breach on the Casper Network. To minimize the impact of this security breach, we have worked with validators to shut down the network until this security breach is fixed.”

A temporary network shutdown will remain in place until the security team fixes the vulnerability, Casper added.
According to the announcement, efforts to address this issue include the Casper Association, Casper Labs, and the crypto project's validation community.
The Casper Association, Casper Labs, and the verifier/community are actively working to resolve the issue. The network is stopped and the security breach is caught. The issue has been identified and a solution is being developed. More updates will be provided.

Casper Network also released an update indicating that the team had identified the issue and was able to contain it. However, the forum is still working to resolve the security breach and will provide further updates to the community.
The Casper (CSPR) token has traded at around $0.019 at the time of writing.
