CertiK urges OKX users to update iOS following a 'critical' vulnerability

Blockchain security firm CertiK has asked all OKX users on iPhone to update the iOS app after it discovered a serious security vulnerability earlier in December.

On December 19th on X (formerly Twitter), Certike told OKX wallet users to update their iOS apps to the latest version to avoid being exposed to the vulnerability.

“Earlier this month, we identified and reported a critical remote code execution (RCE) vulnerability in the OKX iOS app, which could put sensitive data and crypto assets at risk,” the blockchain security firm added.

OKX said on December 19 that it fixed the issue with an “appropriate update” and prompted users to upgrade to iOS version 6.45.0. CertiK has confirmed that the security issue has been resolved.

The RCE vulnerability allows an attacker to run malicious code on an organization's computers or network, potentially leading to stolen funds or a data breach.

OKX Decentralized Exchange OKX DEX suffered a $2.7 million hack on December 13 after it was reported that the private key of its proxy administrator was leaked.

OKX is the 10th ranked cryptocurrency exchange on CoinGecko's “Trust Score” leaderboard with a score of 9/10. OKX recently launched trading and wallet services in Brazil at the end of November.
