ChainLinkGod was a teenager when he started his account: X Hall of Flame

ChainLink guru Zach Raines got his nod a month ago as the man behind the six-year-old fake account “ChainLinkGod.” But the benefits of getting started with crypto anonymously cannot be stressed enough.

“You must be first unless you have a good reason to be because you can always avoid being, but you can't go any other way,” he told Hall of Flame.

Incognito First lets you back out without shame if your account gets messed up in the community.

Rynes was just a kid when he started posting on X.

“I joined crypto in early 2018. I was a high school student. I wasn't even old enough to open a Coinbase account at the time.

He started ChainlinkGod the following year at the age of 18. Growing up in the southwestern United States, Raines' favorite subjects in school were history and computer programming. In addition to crypto, the 24-year-old enjoys hiking, off-roading and going to the shooting range to engage a different part of his brain.

Although he was still young, he was smart enough to understand the value of Chainlink.

“I knew there was a problem with smart contracts, they couldn't communicate with anything in the outside world. How could they really be useful at scale? And then I stumbled upon Chainlink,” he explains.

In those days, most people in the Chainlink community were members of the Frog Army.

“I think that every society has its own power of memory. The Chainlink community was frogs and cubes and hexagons and everyone was a frog at the time,” he added.

Rynes' educational threads about Chainlink have become popular among the Chainlink community, gaining 171,800 X followers.

“I saw that there was this information gap where people didn't really understand the terminology, and I wanted to step in and be that link,” he said.

But ChainLinkGod found it difficult to speak at crypto conferences or spread the word about LINK in real life, which helped his decision to withdraw due to the nature of the account.

“So it was just to join the camaraderie of the community, but later I realized it made more sense to go to my mind.”

How did ChainLinkGod get Twitter fame?

Rynes has been grinding for about six years, posting long educational threads on Chainlink that his fans have been catching up to ever since, resulting in a steady increase in followers.

“When I started doing these educational tweet threads, like these technical deep dives, I think that really helped act as an accelerator,” he said.

Raines describes the growing Chainlink community as a “very tight-knit community,” and he was lucky enough to get in early and grab the SEO-friendly X username “Chainlink God.”

“If you search for Chainlink, my account is one of the first to open because I am ChainLinkGod. The SEO port worked a bit for me.

It was during the winter of 2020 and the “farming frenzy” that Rynes began to notice a significant increase in followers, perhaps the first “real protocols enabled by Chainlink.”

“I think it pulled a lot of people into the channel and then helped them with the chain travel,” says Raines.

What kind of content does ChainLinkGod like?

Raines primarily follows “thought leaders in the space” for their long-form content on social media.

In particular, he enjoys the content of ShapeShift CEO Eric Voorhees, the top Bitcoin OG with over 640,000 X followers.

Raines said that Voorhees' ideas on Bitcoin have always been “very insightful” and that he has learned a lot from his writings.

He is also a fan of both Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin and BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes for their “funny blog content”.

“Because I like to see what people's thought processes are, whether they end up being right or wrong,” he explains.

Occasionally, you might even catch him having a good old chat with Buterin on X.

For laughs, he likes the famous fake Smith crypto troll Wart and their “content and deadpan sarcasm.”

What kind of content does ChainLinkGod make?

“My main focus is on chainlink, so if you want to learn anything and everything about chainlink talk and adaptation, I'm definitely the go-to guy,” he said.

“Generally, I tweet about what I see happening in major megatrends like token assets and DeFi in general.”

You'll see Raines yelling when a veritable circus is happening in the crypto industry.

He says he enjoys tweeting about things he finds interesting in the industry, which might include calling out shenanigans as he sees them in 2022.

In fact, the most popular post on X took a sneaky dig at crypto exchange FTX following the November 2022 crash.

It extends beyond social media.

“I've done a lot of different types of content. I write tweet threads and blogs. I've done podcasts. People always love podcasts,” he says.

ChainLinkGod Price Predictions?

Unfortunately, we don't have any price predictions from Raines. Not everyone is as open-minded as Tim Draper with his $250,000 Bitcoin prediction.

“A lot of cryptocurrencies are tied to what's happening macro-wise, and so macro-wise interest rates can be very good for the industry. But I'm always cautiously optimistic when it comes to crypto, as there are so many different factors that it's hard to separate.

never mind. Even if the value of Chainlink crashes or goes through the roof, Rynes will continue to release educational content and will likely hold on to any Chainlink he owns forever.

“Whether they go up, down or in circles, I'm in it long enough, and I'll still be here,” he laughs.
