The Web3 industry has seen tremendous growth in recent years, from glimpses of the future of the Internet to the reality of bright minds and innovators building the future.

“I took it upon myself to really learn in a language that my father could understand and to make him aware of all cultures, not just my father.”

Brodus said that he wants to be a “bridge” to bring people to this place, so that they can learn to digitize their business and not rely only on the old methods. He felt that many musicians did not realize that their unreleased music was in some ways equivalent to digital assets.

“People don't care how big you are, they just don't want to see you drop your own NFT. They want to see you supporting the community.

When it comes to Snoop himself, Broadus says his dad has to trust his judgment. In the year He recalled Snoop urging him “for years” to create his debut album, Doggystyle, released in 1993 on Death Row Records.

“On the first day we sold the first single and made $250,000. Since then, there have been numbers, and numbers don't lie. Then we only did it for 30 days and in the last 30 days we made a total of $3.5 million,” he recalled.

Broadus explained that he's seen a lot of creators take those songs and stems and turn them into EDM and country songs.

“Watching your community collaborate with legacy artists like Snoop at an affordable price was a great way to say, ‘We're democratizing what collaboration looks like for musicians.'”

That kind of collaboration and innovation wouldn't have been possible without NFTs, he said, calling the experience “inspiring.”

“If I didn't understand this community and if I didn't understand this place, that idea would never have come up.”

This became even more true when Brodus attended NFT NYC and seasoned musicians bought NFT song stems from the pilot.

“To be out in New York and hear like five different artists show me their songs that they bought from our pilot program and see how excited they were to be on the song with Snoop and other Death Row artists was huge for me. That's what really touched me.”

He also recalled a moment at an earlier event at The Sandbox in 2023 when he spoke to key “decision makers” in Web2 and Web3 and recognized the importance of their efforts and presence in the space to their wider community.

“I wanted to make it a priority and take it upon myself to show not just my dad, but all cultures and make sure they were underrepresented in that class. I was probably one of the only black kids in that class, and I wanted to make sure I could change that.”

Snoop, Brodus and the team behind their space endeavors continue to travel at this pace with their latest venture, Death Row Games, released on November 6, under the name of the legendary Death Row Records, which Snoop acquired in February 2022.

Death Row Games is building a new legacy, thanks in part to its teams' gaming presence in the Web 3 space, including Snoop's Snoopverse in The Sandbox metaverse and Dr. Bombay from Yuga Labs, among others.

Bringing his and his father's legacy to the Web3 space, he's bringing the same lessons he learned into play.
