Check Your Wallet: Bitcoin Ordinary Runestone Is Coming Down The Air.

Runestone is raining. The much-anticipated Runestones airdrop took place late Thursday and sent formal texts to more than 112,000 Bitcoin wallets.

“Something is happening!” NFT historian and runestone spokesperson Leonidas said on Twitter. “112,383 rhinestones are approaching Earth's atmosphere. Brace yourself for impact.

According to Inscription marketplace Ordinal, collectors hoping to receive a Runestone at the airport must go to the Bitcoin Ordinals platform, enter their wallet address, and sort through the latest.

“It's a decentralized, 100% volunteer effort — I tweeted the idea last month to reward the Ordinals community,” Leonidas previously told Decrypt. “More than a dozen different companies have contributed funds, engineering resources, etc. to the Ordinals ecosystem.

Ordi's Twitter account claims that Runestone mining for the year will distribute 81 batches of 1,400 to one ordinary community in the next 48 hours.

“Remember you earned your Runestone by showing up and participating in Ordinals when no one else did,” Leonidas said. “This was the only way to get the Runestone and there was no group placement or pre-sale.”

In a series of tweets, Leonidas updated runestone collectors on the weather program.

“In the last 45 minutes, four of the 1,400 Runestones have been written and sent to their destination address,” Leonides said as the airdrop began. “Everything seems to be going smoothly. 76 batches of 1,400 remain and are expected to take ~24 more hours.

Behind the scenes, Leonidas highlighted Runestone's partner Ordinalbots, working to execute an airdrop of the rest of the massive text. Leonidas also noted that casual marketplaces, including Magic Eden and Ordinals Bag, are working to trade runestone texts on the secondary market.

“There is no shame in selling your Runestone,” Leonides said. “Everyone has different life situations. Congratulations to all buyers and sellers. “

Earlier this month, The Runestone, the largest plain text in block size at 3.97 MB, was auctioned. The winning bid of 63,140,674 engraved The Runestone was 8 BTC or about $572,973.

“It's an honor to finally be stoned with all of you,” Leonidas said.
