Coinshare market leader predicts that BTC will reach 150 thousand dollars

CoinShares’ Report Unveils Unprecedented Surge in Digital Asset Investment, Hits $67 Billion AUM

Bitcoin (BTC) price rose to $95,750 at the start of 2025, up 3% after rising to $91,000. Bringing new optimism into the new year, James Butterfill, Head of Research at CoinShares, predicts that Bitcoin will reach $150,000 by 2025.

And that's not all – it assumes a long-term increase of about $250,000. But will Bitcoin reach these huge numbers or are corrections coming?

Can BTC reach $150k?

James Butterfill, a well-known crypto expert, believes that despite some recent market challenges, Bitcoin may break past $150,000 this year. He believes that the positive regulatory environment in the US is the main reason for increasing Bitcoin prices.

In a more optimistic forecast, Butterfill is confident that Bitcoin is on track to reach $250,000, although it may take some time.

Right now, Bitcoin accounts for about 10% of gold's market value. While he doesn't expect Bitcoin to reach $250,000 by 2025, Butterfill believes this is a strong long-term prospect.

Bitcoin possible adjustment to $80K

On the other hand, Butterfill mentions that if Bitcoin only reaches $80,000 this year, it could be due to a delay in crypto policies promised by President-elect Donald Trump.

Institutional BTC price forecast

In addition to the CoinShares forecast, other companies predict high prices for Bitcoin. Bitwise Asset Management expects BTC to reach $200,000 by the end of 2025, while Pantera Capital is more optimistic, predicting that Bitcoin could reach $740,000 by 2028.

Van Eyck, known for his long-term views, suggests that Bitcoin could reach $3 million by 2050, according to its reserves.

What's next for Bitcoin?

However, Bitcoin's road to these developments may not be without its challenges. Experts believe that the first quarter of 2025 could see a period of consolidation, especially after Bitcoin's drop from $108,000 to its current price.
