Crypto traders put $5 million on the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto
The crypto community is eagerly waiting. An HBO documentary entitled “Money Electric, The Secret of Bitcoin” was released. Some believe the documentary may reveal the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto, the founder of Bitcoin.
Crypto traders are electrified, with around $5 million spread across platforms like Polymarket for various predictions.
Who is Satoshi Nakamoto?
Len Sassaman, a key figure in the cypherpunk movement, emerged as a top contender. Currently, Polymarket odds suggest a 38% chance of being identified as Sasaman Nakamoto. Crypto analyst Hitesh Malviya points to several compelling connections between Sasaman and the unnamed creator.

Sasaman, whose death was 88 days after Nakamoto's last known death on April 23, 2011, was a key advocate for encryption and privacy.
“Signifying the end of a brilliant mind devoted to user privacy and open knowledge, young cypherpunk Lane Sassaman took his own life,” Malvia said.
His passing coincided with a period of significant mourning in the cypherpunk community, which strongly supports the principles of anonymous digital communication and currency — the foundations of Bitcoin. What's more, the cypherpunk community honored Sasaman with Bitcoin block 138,725, which was produced 27 days after his death.
The Bitcoin block demonstrated wisdom in Sasaman's memory, strengthening his legacy in blockchain.
Additionally, Sasaman's relationship with Satoshi's other candidate, Hal Finney, adds depth to the narrative. Finney, who received the first bitcoin transaction, has worked closely with Sassaman on many cryptographic challenges. Both incorporate British English into their writing—a hallmark of Nakamoto's media.
Additionally, analysis of Sasaman's Twitter activity reveals a pattern that mirrors the timing of Satoshi's code execution, suggesting synchronized nocturnal development sessions.

Meme coin predictions
As the documentary approaches its release, the crypto community has embraced Sasaman's legacy in new ways. Last week, meme coins inspired by Sasaman and even his cats Sasha and Odin spread across networks like Ethereum and Solana. In fact, some meme coins have achieved a market capitalization of over $10 million.
This flurry of activity highlights Sasama's massive impact on cryptography and digital privacy, strengthening his case as Satoshi Nakamoto. While the documentary may or may not definitively reveal Nakamoto's identity, the narrative surrounding Sasaman ensures that his contribution cannot be overlooked.
