DFINITY and SingularityNET partner to advance decentralized AI infrastructure
The DFINITY Foundation and SingularityNET are looking at decentralized AI infrastructure, a project that integrates the internet computer blockchain with the SingularityNET marketplace. According to Dr. Ben Goertzel, CEO of SingularityNET, the collaboration aims to develop decentralized AI and AGI infrastructure that will benefit all humanity.
The DFINITY Foundation (DFINITY) and decentralized AI marketplace SingularityNET (AGIX) have announced a strategic partnership aimed at advancing a decentralized artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure ecosystem.
DFINITY and SingularityNET will use the collaboration to build an infrastructure that brings decentralized AI services to dApps built on the Internet of Things Computer (ICP).
The push for decentralized AI infrastructure
The two companies are collaborating as it pushes towards a decentralized approach to AI and Artificial General Intelligence (AGI).
An ecosystem with the right infrastructure will help bring the benefits of this technological leap to humanity.
“SingularityNET and DFINITY have each created critical tools and platforms that enable the decentralization of AI and AGI. “Bringing these two tools together will be an important step toward creating a decentralized AI network for the benefit of all humanity,” said Dr. Ben Gorzel, CEO of SingularityNET, in a statement.
The two organizations plan to combine their grant programs with the goal of deepening funding for DFINITY's Developer Grant Program. In this case, the companies hope to stimulate the developer community, providing the resources researchers and scientists want to advance the decentralized AI ecosystem.

Dominic Williams, Founder and Chief Scientist at the DFINITY Foundation, said ICP plays a critical role in this mission.
“Internet Computing has been at the forefront of hosting artificial intelligence on the blockchain. Since the launch of the $5 million DAI grant in July, we have seen a significant increase in projects advancing AI at ICP. This initiative with SingularityNET makes our vision for DeAI a reality and we are excited to work with Dr. Ben Goertzel and his team to refine the DeAI framework.
Further collaborating on this effort, DFINITY Foundation and SingularityNET will host joint events at ICP.Hubs around the world. These events will continue in the coming year, with hackathons, seminars and more.
Today's announcement from the DFINITY Foundation and SingularityNET comes as the AI space grapples with the dramatic events surrounding OpenAI. The AI company fired its founder and CEO Sam Altman last Friday, and despite efforts to reinstate him, Altman eventually joined Microsoft.
He is set to lead the tech giant's new AI team.
