The second-largest dog coin by market capitalization, Shiba Inu (SHIB), held the day on Saturday, with the Ethereum-based token jumping to an eight-month high — all while top dog Dogecoin (DOGE) showed more modest gains.
Shiba Inu traded as high as $0.00002969 on Saturday evening, before easing slightly to a current high of $0.00002897. Even with the loss, SHIB was up more than 12% on the day—and last hit a Saturday high on April 1, eight months ago.
According to data from CoinGecko, among the top 50 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, Filecoin was the biggest earner by far, followed by a 10% jump on the day.
Dog-themed meme coins aren't hot on the day, with Bonk (BONK) and Dogwifhat (WIF) up about 1% each over the past 24 hours. But Ethereum-based Floki (FLOKI) jumped almost 6% today.
Dogecoin, meanwhile, is nearing a one-week high above $0.43, up 3 percent on the day. Last Saturday, DOGE reached a three-year high of $0.475. But even at current prices, DOGE is up 164% in the past month.
Another popular meme coin Brett (BRETT)—the top meme mined on the base of Ethereum's layer-2 network—rose to a high of $0.2032 on Saturday, and is now up 17% over the past 24 hours.
