Donald Trump Announced That America Should Not Be Placed In 'Second Place' In The Crypto Industry

Former US President Donald Trump has said that the United States should not settle for anything but being at the top of the cryptocurrency industry.

“Our country must be the leader in the field, there is no second place,” Trump declared in a May 25 post on Truth Social — a social media platform owned by the Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG).

“I'm very positive and open to cryptocurrency companies and everything related to this new and growing industry,” he said, before taking aim at incumbent President Joe Biden, who will challenge him in the 2024 presidential race. US Election Day is scheduled for November 4th.

“Crooked Joe Biden, on the other hand, the worst president in our nation's history, wants him to die a slow, painful death. That would never happen to me!”

The comments came ahead of his scheduled speech at the Libertarian Party National Convention in Washington later that day.

Trump's positive attitude towards crypto recently raised the expectations of his potential victory among the crypto industry.

According to Polymarket, a New York-based crypto prediction platform, Trump has a 56% chance of winning the election, while incumbent President Joe Biden has a 38% chance.

This happened after Trump announced that his presidential campaign would accept cryptocurrency donations. On May 21, the Trump 2024 campaign said it launched a fundraising page for eligible people to donate in crypto using the Coinbase Commerce product.

The website displayed logos for Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Dogecoin (DOGE), Shiba (SHIB), XRP (XRP), USD Coin (USDC), SOL (SOL) and 0x (ZRX).

In addition to making positive public announcements about crypto, Trump has also reportedly met with crypto enthusiasts.

Cointelegraph recently reported that those who bought Trump's “mugshot” non-perishable tokens (NFTs) had the chance to dine with Trump on May 8 at his Mar-a-Lago residence.

The dinner party was part of a deal to buy digital trading cards that show a shot taken during his hand-in-hand at the Fulton County Jail in Georgia.
