Donald Trump has vowed to ‘never allow’ a CBDC to be created in the United States.
United States presidential candidate and former president Donald Trump has promised that he will never allow the Federal Reserve to create a central bank digital currency (CBCC) in the United States.
The promise was made in a January 17 campaign speech in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where the former president of the United States said, “Tonight, I will make another promise to protect the American people from government tyranny.”

The statement was met with a standing ovation before Trump continued to elaborate: “I didn't know you knew so much…
“Such a currency would give the federal government, our federal government, absolute control over your money […] They could have taken your money and you wouldn't even know it was gone.
“This is a danger to freedom and I will stop it from coming to America,” he said.
Donald Trump, who tried to reverse the results of the 2020 presidential election, announced that he will start his 2024 presidential bid in November 2022. The 60th four-year presidential election will be held on November 5, 2024.
Last year, Florida governor and Republican candidate Ron DeSantis promised to “nix” central bank digital currencies on his first day in office.
Earlier this week, Cointelegraph reported that Ron DeSantis lost to Trump in the key battleground state of Iowa on January 15. The Florida governor has trailed Trump by more than 10 points since starting his campaign.
