Donald Trump named David Sachs “AI and crypto czar”.
David Sachs is the former COO of PayPal and founder of Yammer, a SaaS company that works on the legal framework to provide the crypto industry with the transparency it needs.
US President-elect Donald Trump has announced David Sachs as his leading policy adviser on artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency, naming him the “White House AI and crypto czar.”
In a post on his social media account, Trump wrote that Sachs would take on the role in “two areas critical to the future of American competitiveness.” The crypto industry has the transparency it has been asking for, and it can thrive in America.
Trump added that David would focus on making America a “global leader” in these areas, a promise Trump made during his campaign in August.
During the US election, Trump focused on being pro-crypto and became the first US president to use the Bitcoin network. After sending a Bitcoin transaction at PubKey, a crypto-themed bar in New York, before his campaign rally on Long Island in September.
After winning the November election against incumbent Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump has been nominating pro-Croatian candidates for his administration before he takes the White House next month.
Earlier this week, Trump named pro-crypto Paul Atkins as chairman of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), helping Bitcoin reach over $100,000 for the first time. Trump also has Tesla CEO Elon Musk and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy head up the Office of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to “dismantle government bureaucracies.”
Musk, who was a familiar face during Trump's campaign, reportedly donated more than $250 million to Trump's campaign, according to the Financial Times.
Elsewhere, in November, Trump nominated Howard Lutnick, CEO of financial services firm Cantor Fitzgerald, as US Commerce Secretary.
