‘Doomsday Clock’ calls AI an existential threat, a “disturbing technology” for the human race.
The “doomsday clock” was revised by atomic scientists on January 23 to reflect the planet's emergency, with only 90 seconds starting at midnight for various reasons, Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The clock is set based on the “negative threats” to the planet and humanity, which are nuclear accidents, climate change and disruptive technologies. Midnight represents the “apocalyptic” state on the clock, so the 90 mark is considered a “time of historical danger” this year.
