Elon Musk refuses to plant his sperm in a colony on Mars.
Elon Musk has denied a New York Times report that he volunteered his sperm to colonize Mars.
In the year According to a July 11 report, Musk quietly led his team to design an extraterrestrial habitat that could survive the hostile environment of Mars.
One group is looking at plans for “small dome dwellings,” including the materials used to build them. Another is working on space suits that can survive the cold atmosphere of Mars – 95% carbon dioxide and only 0.13% oxygen – and a third is investigating whether people can have children there.
The report cited “two people familiar with the matter” as saying that Musk “voluntarily donated his sperm to the colony.”
However, Musk has since publicly denied these claims in a response to a post on X that shared the article.
“I'd rather hear it in the words I've used in so many interviews over the years. I didn't volunteer my sperm,” Musk said.
“No one at SpaceX has been instructed to work on a Mars city. When people ask to do that, I say we need to focus on getting there first.
Despite Musk's denials on X, the rumor continues to spread like wildfire across news desks and social media.

Musk told his employees that he plans to build a city of one million people on Mars by 2050.
In the year By 2020, Musk shared that his ultimate goal would be to launch an average of three starships per day, or 1,000 flights per year.
Musk once hinted that Bitcoin (BTC) could be used as a currency on Mars, though he initially dismissed the idea.
At X Spaces in January, Musk took a shot at Mars using Bitcoin as a currency due to the high time it takes to settle transactions.
“It makes sense to use some kind of cryptocurrency on Mars; you couldn't use bitcoin because the distance is too long.”
However, after speaking on his own, Musk concluded that since Earth is only eight light-minutes from the Sun, and Mars is 12 light-minutes away, it's possible.
“Maybe you can use bitcoin to some extent, but it's hard to use much on Mars,” he said, adding the importance of a local network on the planet.
