Ethereum Foundation’s Website Hints at ‘Government Authority’ Investigation
Changes to the Ethereum Foundation's website removed indications that the foundation was not under investigation. According to information from GitHub, no explanation was given for the change on February 26.
The changes were made by Pablo Pettinari, the free Ethereum front-end developer. The deleted text reads:
“The Ethereum Foundation (Stiftung Ethereum) has never been contacted by any agency in the world in a manner that mandates anonymity. Stiftung Ethereum publicly discloses any requests from government agencies outside the scope of normal business operations.”
In a statement on GitHub, Pettinari wrote, “This commit removes the pedestrian section because we received a request from a state authority.
Yellow canary logo removed.
The Ethereum Foundation did not immediately respond to a request from Cointelegraph about the website changes.
This is a developing story, and more information will be added as it becomes available.
