Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin sends 15M USDC to Gemini
Blockchain sleuths have zeroed in on a recent transaction in a wallet linked to Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, where he transferred $14.9 million USD to cryptocurrency exchange Gemini.
Buterin's wallet “vitalik.eth” transferred $14.93 million to Gemini on October 16, according to a post on X by blockchain analytics firm PeckShield on October 17.
The transaction was verified by Cointelegraph itself via Etherscan.

Buterin received $14.93 million on Oct. 14 from Canro, a charity affiliated with Buterin.
According to a separate analysis from crypto data provider Lookonchain, Buterin also recently transferred about $500,000 to Coinbase three days ago.

Following the news of the transfer, the price of the Ethereum currency Ether (ETH) held steady, falling just 0.68% in the past four hours, according to CoinGecko price data.

Buterin's most recent transaction is the latest in a series of transactions to central exchanges in the past few months, with a total of over $3.9 million transferred in September.
On September 24, Buterin transferred 400 ETH – worth $600,000 at the time – to Coinbase. Cointelegraph previously reported a 600-ETH ($1 million) transaction from the vitalik.eth address on August 21, which was identified by on-chain monitoring platforms.
