Ethos Launches Hardware Device For Ethereum On-Chain Dapp Interactions

ethOS launched dGEN1, a tool for on-chain dApp interoperability for Ethereum. dGEN1 works with the Nimbus client on LineageOS, avoiding third-party RPCs. Pre-orders opened at 0.2 ETH via NFT Mingling, shipping in Q2 2025.

Ethereum-based operating system ethOS has unveiled dGEN1, a pioneering hardware device designed to improve communications for on-chain decentralized applications (dApps).

This innovative product, which ethOS describes as “the first on-chain daily wearable,” is specifically optimized for users participating in Ethereum's expanding ecosystem.

dGEN1 works on LineageOS version

The launch of dGEN1 follows the success of blockchain-focused tools such as Solana Mobile Saga and Seeker. However, unlike its Solana counterparts, dGEN1 does not offer telecom capabilities, focusing only on Ethereum interoperability.

dGEN1 runs on a special version of LineageOS, a popular Android fork, which allows integration of the native Nimbus Light client. This feature allows users to authenticate their data when interacting with dApps, eliminating reliance on untrusted third-party remote procedure calls (RPCs).

The tool includes a built-in browser that supports IPFS and .eth domains, facilitating seamless access to decentralized content.

One of the unique features of dGEN1 is its unique screen that provides real-time transaction notifications and metadata during network interactions. This functionality aims to enhance the user experience by ensuring that users are aware of their activities on the Ethereum network.

dGEN1 pre-orders are currently open.

For those interested in obtaining dGEN1, pre-orders are currently available via the NFT creation process on the Base Layer 2 network for 0.2 ETH, approximately $520.

According to the company, the devices are expected in the second quarter of 2025, and currently 630 users carry the corresponding NFT.

In addition to the device, ethOS plans to reward device owners with airdrops when they download dGEN1. Each owner will participate in the airdrop pool, further encouraging early adopters.

With its unique features and design, dGEN1 aims to position itself as an essential tool for Ethereum enthusiasts looking to efficiently participate in on-chain dApps.
