Following India’s pause, Worldcoin will launch in Singapore
WorldCoin has launched identity verification services for Singaporeans after a backlash in India.
In a Dec. 27 blog post, Worldcoin said the project's iris-scanning orbs are available to individuals at five locations in Singapore. Singapore's announcement followed a temporary rollout for Indian residents, though the platform said its services are “continually expanding across countries”.

At the time of publication, WorldCoin's website showed verification sites located in 11 countries, including the United States. Authorities in some states, including Kenya, have blocked the project over privacy concerns.

The identity verification started in 2021, with more than two million people signed up before the official launch in July 2023. According to WorldCoin, at the time of publication, more than five million people had created an account using their identity – roughly 0.06% of the world's population. Population.
