Former Binance CEO CZ’s X account has been banned
X (formerly Twitter) has blocked the account of Changpeng ‘CZ' Zhao, former CEO of Binance. The founder of Binance pleaded guilty to DOJ charges on Tuesday and resigned.
Binance founder and former CEO Changpeng ‘CZ' Zhao's X account has been banned. While it's unclear why former Binance boss X (formerly of Twitter) was banned, the move surprised many.
On Thursday, US prosecutors sought to prevent Zed from traveling to the United Arab Emirates on charges that he was a flight risk. This happened after he pleaded guilty to money laundering charges and was released on $175 million bond.
Binance will pay a $4.3 billion fine as part of a settlement with the US Department of Justice (DOJ).
After his resignation, he was succeeded by Richard Teng, who was the head of the Abu Dhabi Global Market in the United Arab Emirates.

CZ's account restriction is due to multiple name changes, which he mentioned in his comment on FUD.
