Gaming blockchain Ronin registers 2M active users daily: Token Terminal

By 2024, the Ronin Network has surpassed other blockchains in terms of daily active users (DAU) as the gaming ecosystem reached several milestones in 2024.

On July 29, onchain data platform Token Terminal Ronin Network recorded two million DAU count, surpassing other active blockchains such as Tron (TRX) and Solana (SOL). Tron ranked second with 1.8 million active users, while Solana had 1.2 million users in the last 24 hours.

The Ronin ecosystem continues to expand.

In its mid-year review published on July 23, the Ronin team highlighted factors that could influence the increase in active users.

According to Ronin, its growth in the first half of 2024 is due in part to a non-reversible token (NFT) marketplace called Mavis Market and the addition of the Ronin (RON) token to Binance. The Ronin team believes that this has given users a “portal” to the “land of gamers”.

The team reports 12 million RON holders and over three million downloads for the Ronin Wallet. The network said the ecosystem currently has 15 games and more games are in development.

Migration of pixels and zkEVM schemes

Pixel, one of the largest Web3 games by user count, migrated to Ronin in February 2024. The network reported that the game's monthly active users reached 1.7 million in June. According to Ronin, players have spent more than 15 million in Pixels (PIXEL) tokens for the game's VIP coupons in the past 12 months.

In addition to gaming, Ronin Networks has also improved its technology stack. On June 18, Ronin announced plans to introduce zkEVM, a Zero Knowledge (ZK) Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) layer-2 chain with an updated Polygon Chain Development Kit (CDK).

According to Sky Mavis, the team behind Ronin, this “makes Ronin more decentralized” using ZK-proof Layer-2 rollups. The group believes it will prepare the network to handle billions of transactions in the future.
