ToggleWeb3 game execs have made a big bet on user numbers and adoption for 2025
In the year As 2025 begins, everyone in the Web3 gaming industry – from execs to devs – is sharing their predictions for the year. Common sense? They've stopped quibbling over how “more fun” web3 games will be in the future, and are jumping on the bandwagon of traditional game publishers and platforms, betting big on actual user numbers.
Ava Labs game leader “Park” said in a December 29 X post that Web3 Games will hit 50 million monthly active users (MAU) this year and that a “top” western game publisher will go to Web3 Game or Web3 Game “will be bought by a major publisher.”
Generation Guild Games Corporate Development and Finance Manager Serge-Raymond Nzabandora believes that big user numbers are coming. Several games will hit 1 million daily active users (DAU), he tells Web3 Gamer, and a “select few” will break 5 to 10 million DAUs.
Raymond believes that the third-person battle royale game Off The Grid – based on the Avalanche blockchain – will break through 1 million DAUs once it is fully launched and the GUNZ token is released.
Raymond of the Grid performed “extremely well” when it launched on consoles in early October.
He believes this is a reasonable assumption given that the back-to-back adventure game Pixels – one of the hottest Web3 games of 2024 – surpassed 1 million DAUs last year.
Traditional gaming organizations are set to explore Web3 games.
“Many of the games funded in the last round are entering more mature stages of their game development roadmaps,” Raymond added.
Raymond also believes that Web3 Games will continue to find new distribution platforms, that more major studios will enter Web3 Games, and that the center of gravity will shift from Asia to the United States.
Tim Moore, Head of Fixed Growth and Revenue Strategy, said in a December 27 X video that he believes Web3 gaming will cease to be a separate category and “become gaming” by 2025.
Meanwhile, Coliseum founder and CEO Thomas Zapfel He said he thinks 2025 is the year mobile games will “take off and start dominating the industry.”

Web3 games that are pure tokenomics will die. Only real games with proper management and player-owned assets survive.
Players can now predict how the year will go with the ‘Forkast' prediction platform.
If you can nail down a few of your own crypto game predictions, it could pay off big time with a new prediction market platform that launched this week just for players.
On January 7, Community Gaming is launching “Forecast,” its first player prediction market on the Ronin Network.
Users can earn rewards like cryptocurrency token CGX by correctly predicting what will happen in the gaming industry.
“Will Pixel reach 2M DAU by Christmas?” For the question, imagine a market. Ronin said in a statement on December 24 that users can vote yes or no, and if they reach the mark by the deadline, users who vote correctly “will receive onchain rewards from their peers.”
Forecast – which has nothing to do with the crypto news publication – confirmed in a December 29 X post that CGX will have a total supply of 1 billion tokens.
57% of these tokens will go to the community by setting up prizes, contest prizes, weather and forecast market incentives.
Experienced players may think this is an easy way to make a profit, but experience on other platforms suggests it's not that easy.
Polymarket, a decentralized prediction market platform that allows crypto users to place bets on world events, performed well for only 12.7% of user wallets.
In October, data from onchain analytics tool Layerhub showed that of the 171,113 crypto wallets on Polymarket, 149,383 or 87.3% did not make a profit.
Yellow Panther Launches ‘Agent YP', AI Agent Total MC Breaks $100B
Yellow Panther, one of the biggest web3 players on the planet, is entering its new artificial intelligence game agent, betting that it will come out on top.
“There are only a few game AI agents out there right now, but I'd bet on myself and say Agent YP,” Yellow Panther tells Web3Gamer.
Currently, Agent YP boasts over 6,000 followers and serves as an information and alpha agent on social media platform X. It is powered by the AI Ecosystem Virtualization Protocol and the Onchain AI Accelerated Agent Launcher.
The 26-year-old is among the first big names in Web3 gaming to launch an AI agent, and Yellow Panther-style cosmetics – items that allow players to customize their character's appearance – and skins are already in “over 20 Web3 games”.
“Agent YP aims to be the fastest and most accurate alpha in-game AI agent in the crypto game,” he added.
Agent YP can interact with other players.
Yellow Panther has big plans for the agent to play on-chain games soon, as a non-playable character to interact with other players, and even live streaming. He thinks there is a “high probability” that the AI agent will compete directly with Web3 game developers.
Overall, Yellow Panther thinks that at least one of the AI agent ecosystems will break the top 20 largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, and that the total market value of AI agents will exceed $100 billion.
