Google Cloud is now a validator on Polygon.
Polygon Labs has announced that Google Cloud is now an authenticator on the Polygon POS network.
The new authenticator brings the “same infrastructure” that powers YouTube and Gmail. Google Cloud has joined Deutsche Telekom's latest venture.
Polygon Labs has announced that Google Cloud is now a validator on the Polygon PoS network. The company He revealed his progress in a post on September 29th.
Google Cloud has joined Polygon Verifiers.
According to Polygon Labs, Google Cloud Computing Platform has joined more than 100 validators on the leading Ethereum Layer 2 network.
According to Polygon's developer team, “High-quality, trusted and security-minded authenticators like Google Cloud provide an extra layer of security for Heimdall, Bor and Polygon PoS users.”
In the world of proof-of-stake blockchain, validators are key as they operate nodes that help secure the network through a process called staking. The native token MATIC is used in this critical network operation. Google Cloud helps Polygon's security in this way, as Polygon Labs says “the same infrastructure used to power YouTube and Gmail” now helps secure Ethereum's L2 protocol.
Today's news follows Google Cloud's recent announcement of support for eleven additional blockchains for BigQuery public datasets. One of the added networks is Polygon POS.
In June, German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom joined Polygon's validation team.
