Government Of India Is Going To Enact Laws To Prevent Deep Fake Accidents.

India is enacting regulations to control deep fakes, the country's Minister of Railways, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnav, on November 23, expanded on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statement a day earlier about his concerns about the technology.

According to a Reuters report, during discussions with academics, industry associations and social media organizations, Vaishnaw said the Indian government aims to finish drafting the regulations in the coming weeks.

Deepfakes are realistic and often convincing artificial intelligence (AI)-generated videos or audio recordings that alter or replace a person's image and voice in an existing video or audio clip. In his first remarks during the virtual G20 summit, Modi urged global leaders to work together on controlling AI and expressed concern about the negative impact of artificial intelligence on society.

In the report, Vaishnaw, the regulatory drafting process, takes into account penalties for uploading the content to the individual and the social media platform on which it is posted. This development comes as they strive to establish laws governing AI globally.
