Greg Solano, nicknamed “Garga” and co-founder of Yoga Labs, has announced that he will take over as CEO.

The announcement comes as Daniel Alegre, Activision Blizzard's former COO and CEO of Yuga Labs, stepped down after roughly ten months in the role.

Crypto-Native focus

The leadership transition was revealed in a post on X, in which Solano expressed his enthusiasm for leading the company into its next phase.

“I will be returning as the CEO of Yoga Labs,” Solano said. Wylie Daniels and I are grateful for his contributions and operational strength to the company and appreciate his thoughtfulness and mentorship over the past year. I am excited to contribute to our next chapter.”

Responding to the delegation, Alegre expressed his gratitude for the cooperation during his tenure as the CEO of Yoga Labs Group and expressed his confidence in the company's future prospects.

Speaking about the future of YugaLab, Solano outlined the company's key areas of focus, emphasizing a shift to a more crypto-native approach to all operations.

Under Solano's leadership, Yuga Labs is reinvigorating its flagship project, the Board Up Yacht Club (BAYC), while fostering greater autonomy and efficiency within the team. Solano emphasized the importance of community involvement and collaboration, citing recent successes such as ApeFest and Made by Apes, citing BAYC as an indicator of a cultural event.

To facilitate this vision, a new subsidiary was formed within Yoga Labs, “BAYC LLC”, which oversees all aspects of the BAYC ecosystem. Solano expressed confidence in the current team while hinting at recruiting key roles to strengthen BAYC's operations.

Another and game motivation

Solano outlined plans to promote another as a primary destination in the Web 3 space. Describing it as the “web3 salon,” Solano emphasized the importance of community participation in shaping the development of the other side.

They have pledged to increase transparency and communication, starting with the upcoming “Monkeys Come Home” event as part of a broader effort to engage the community in the platform's evolution.

Solano emphasized Yuga Labs' commitment to gaming, advocating a balanced approach that combines mass market with crypto-native mechanics. He explained that this strategy aims to attract a diverse user base to create new gaming experiences using blockchain technology.

He has hinted at this strategy in action with upcoming projects like Dookey Dash and collaborations with partners like Faraway.
