'Hamster Kombat' Token has reached its lowest ever price during the next Telegram game

Hamster Combat fans are still waiting for the Telegram game's promised second chapter after September's token failure, but the release window given by the developers has come and gone—and the HMSTR token will continue to sink in the meantime.

HSMTR, mined on The Open Network (TON), hit a new all-time low of $0.0025 on Friday, according to CoinMarketCap data. It is now down 11% over the past week at a price of $0.0026, recovering slightly from Friday's low.

The Hamster Kombat token price has fallen significantly since its September 26 launch and airdrop, and is down about 74% from its peak at the time of writing. That plunge parallels other top Telegram gaming tokens, with Catizen ( CATI ) down 71% since hitting its peak and NoteCoin ( NOT ) down 78% since reaching a market cap of nearly $3 billion in June.

Hamster Kombat's airdrop was highly anticipated after Telegram's tap-getting game attracted more than 300 million players earlier this year. Approximately 129 million players were eligible to claim HMSTR tokens based on their gameplay.

When the token dropped, however, many players complained about the size of their rewards, with some taking to social media to say they received $10 or less, comparing the airdrop to “dust.”

Hamster Kombat will continue after the demo's launch, with a second airdrop planned for summer 2025 following a second full game season. The upcoming update will allow players to take control of the Hamster Run Game Development Studio as they design and deploy games—while still retaining tap-to-play gameplay.

An anonymous development team recently shared a teaser video showing a first look at the remake, but the “late October” launch estimate given to Decrypt last month has gone without a Season 2 launch — and no updated timeline for the revival.

It's not just the token price that's suffering. Hamster Kombat's monthly active user count has been falling of late, falling more and more each day. According to Telegram's own data, fewer than 44 million users played the mini app last month — down from more than 100 million in the year to the end of September.
