HBO to reveal Satoshi, people bet on Sasama
“Who is Satoshi Nakamoto”, the question that touches the mind of every Bitcoin fan will be answered according to the speculations among the community. HBO has released the trailer for its upcoming documentary “Money Electric,” which will air on October 8, 2024. People from the news media and not just the crypto community have been looking for this answer for years. The creator of Bitcoin is always known by the nickname Satoshi Nakamoto. Is he a single person or a group of people, is he alive or dead, there are many questions around this subject.
An HBO documentary may have exposed the true identity of Bitcoin's creator, he says. A decentralized prediction market started betting on this topic and offered sixteen options for people to bet on. Currently, Len Sasaman is leading the bidding with a 53% chance of becoming Satoshi according to bidders.
Len Sassaman was an American technologist who spent his life working in cryptography. He worked as a security architect and senior systems engineer for Internet privacy company Anonymizer. He advocated the use of cryptography and privacy-enhancing technologies. According to his wife, he took his own life in 2011. This time coincides with the disappearance of Satoshi from the Internet.
For a long time, crypto researchers believed that Hal Finney was the creator of Bitcoin. He was an early contributor to the Bitcoin project. Satoshi Nakamoto, the anonymous creator of Bitcoin, was the person who received the first Bitcoin transaction. Like Sassaman, Feeney was also vocal about the problems associated with online privacy and centralization.
It is said that for 10 years Finney lived in the same city with Satoshi Nakamoto and this is one of the reasons why researchers believe that he is the creator of Bitcoin. However, he denied these claims. Hal Finney died ten years ago in August 2014 from a disease known as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Motor Neurone Disease. His body was preserved in the hope of a future resurrection.
HBO is only four days away from airing the documentary and it will be interesting to see who they announce as the inventor of Bitcoin. Or like Crypto People, the documentary is going to say, “We're all Satoshi.”
