Holonym Foundation emerges with $5.5M in seed funding to deliver Global Digital Person.

Led by Financial Capital and Paper Ventures, with participation from Arrington Capital, Draper Dragon, Lightshift and others.
The Holonym Foundation, an organization building the next generation of digital identity security for the decentralized web, is announcing the successful completion of $5.5 million in seed funding. The funding round was led by Financial Capital and Paper Ventures, with significant participation from Draper Dragon, Arrington Capital, Lightshift, Zero Knowledge Ventures, Zero DAO and other notable funds.
Shadi El Damati, founder of Holonim, said, “We are building on the technology that we are sending people-first principles to the world. Our goal is to build a global open source layer that improves the ability of every citizen to access their basic digital identity by using encryption to authenticate their identity.
“Without a sovereign identity, we cannot exercise sovereignty over our financial resources. The Holonym Foundation builds critical middleware and applications that enable Web3 users to share, manage, and choose their data with strong privacy and security guarantees, enabling Web3 users to be the envy of Web2 users. Holonym will be part of the solution to bring the next trillion dollars worth of assets to the blockchain,” said Financial Capital GP Kamal Mokedem.
Cryptographic keys, or private keys, run the web and secure every digital interaction on the internet. But what if private keys could be constructed differently and more sophisticatedly? Human keys completely change how private keys are issued. HumanKeys turns humans into keys instead of generating private keys from random phrases. This new frame shifts ownership of digital assets from someone who holds a random seed to someone who can uniquely verify biometrics. Human Keys makes the proprietary layers of the Internet built on top of it more user-friendly, decentralized, and secure.
Human Keys includes three protocols developed by the Holonym Foundation, all of which have security and strong data privacy systems as core principles.
Mishti Network, a forward-constrained entropy network that computes memory function (OPRF) on biometric data. This allows people to generate arbitrary secure keys that are hard to steal, and unlocks private homomorphic computation on encrypted data, allowing untrusted third parties to authenticate users without ever seeing the original data. This is an Actively Validated Service (AVS) on Eigenlayer with crypto economic methods that enhance the economic security of the Ethereum network. Zeroname, a zero-knowledge identity protocol, uses human keys to allow anyone in the world to secretly verify facts about their identity. More than 125,000 anonymous Zeroname users around the world have already unlocked these rights, showcasing their unique personalities, backgrounds and other attributes to create a rich digital reputation that they alone own and control. Silk, a simple and elegant wallet user interface for interacting with crypto protocols. Human keys are made for real-world use by the everyday Internet user with Silk. Silk offers advanced security tools to protect users from hackers, fraud and malware on the decentralized web.
Holonim founder Nanak Nihal Singh Khalsa says, “Humanity is not just a biometric, like your face. It is about what you are, what you know and what we will become: your property, your memory and your body. We are giving free ownership to our data on the current centralized web. Web3 should be a place where we provide strong data ownership and secure identity sharing, so that no one but you owns your data.
By giving everyone in the world a secure key that only they own and control, the Holonym Foundation moves toward global digital inclusion, at a time when advances in artificial intelligence are set to leave many behind.
Holonim founder Shadi El Damati said this is just the beginning for the Holonim Foundation. “Human Keys will redefine how citizens interact with the Internet by limiting power overreach and strengthening individual rights through robust decentralized protocols built on the Zeronim and Mishti network.”
The Holonym Foundation is focused on innovation in applied cryptography that provides solutions to real-world problems.
About the Holonym Foundation
Holonim Foundation's mission is the proliferation of human keys to further leverage security and privacy in zero-trust environments. The Holonym Foundation has developed an infrastructure that allows anyone to create human keys on the Mishti network, easily use them with Silk, and verify their identity privately with Zeronym.
Holonym Foundation products
Mishti Network. Zero trust human key home network. Generate high-entropy human keys from personal biometrics, passwords, security questions, or other memorable data. Mishti brings zeroname programmable privacy to on-chain private banking, payments, and other real-world regulated industries.
Silk. A people-friendly wallet for instant boarding. Use Human Keys with zero-trust protocols to save, send payments, access global Internet financial protocols, and manage your personal data. Silk is a protected self-sustaining wallet that can be retrieved outside of trusted custodians.
Zero Name Personal Identity and Identity Verification. Fast client-side privacy for identity verification, supporting digital credentials from 180 countries. Use human keys to independently verify any fact without disclosing any information in zero knowledge. Business Zeroname can use KYC/AML programmable privacy for continuous monitoring to protect privacy.
