Draft Protocol, the largest forever swap futures exchange on Solana, has launched a points program. The point program precedes future airdrops, where Drift distributes its token management to community members to decentralize the protocol.
To date, he has seen Drift. The amount is 5 billion dollars From 90,000 users, over $120 million in total value is locked into the protocol. The company closed a $23.5 million Series A round last October, with Polychain Capital and Solana Labs co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko among others.
Swipe points are distributed to users every week, and 100 million points are awarded per week. The protocol team has not yet released information on how many tokens will be distributed through the points program in total.
The points are mainly generated by user trading activity. They depend on a user's balanced trading volume and other activities—such as depositing or not depositing liquidity.
The program will last for three months, but the Drift team has assured their community that past activities will be rewarded and that many snapshots will be taken to reward “OG users”. A team member also took to Twitter (pronounced X) to inform users that the program may end in less than three months, but no more.
How do you farm?
Drift clearly states that points are linked to your scaled trading volume and the points are distributed once a week. That means if my activity in any given week accounts for 1% of the total volume on Drift, I will receive 1% of the points distributed that week.
When trying to figure out how a protocol scales with different actions in a point program or airdrop, a good rule of thumb is to think about what the protocol's goals are.
At its current stage, Drift Protocol seems to focus on four key metrics: total volume, number of users, accumulated trades, and total value locked (TVL). With this in mind, to breed this air drop, I want to do actions that increase those numbers.
In this case, all these values increase in volume – so it is safe to say that the name of the game is trading. Draft is a continuous futures exchange, so all you need to do is make a few trades!
Final note: Drift Protocol doesn't serve US residents, so if you're into the good ol' red, white, and blue, you should probably sit this one out.
