For now, the new service is available across the USA, except for residents of New York State.

Additional support for these assets

The company In 2021, Coinbase introduced its loan product called Borrow. After two years, it was discontinued and brought back in early 2025.

Coinbase Borrow allows users to borrow their cryptocurrency holdings as collateral instead of selling them. Until recently, customers were able to borrow up to $5 million on their Bitcoin (BTC) holdings and up to $1 million on the stablecoin Ethereum (ETH). The exchange, however, decided to expand its services by adding Ripple (XRP), Cardano (ADA), Dogecoin (DOGE) and Litecoin (LTC).

“Now you can unlock the value of your portfolio without leaving your position. Borrow up to $100K USDC against your tokens instantly, without selling. Now available in the US (eg NY),” says the official announcement.

Support from major exchanges such as Coinbase has a positive impact on the value of participating cryptocurrencies by increasing their reputation and reach. Meanwhile, XRP, ADA, DOGE and LTC continued to trade lower, reflecting broader market conditions.

It should be noted that the strongest price pumps occur immediately after Coinbase lists a token or expresses its intention to do so. Last summer, for example, the company added SPX6900 ( SPX ), AWE Network ( AWE ), Dolomite ( DOLO ), Flock ( FLOCK ), and Solayer ( LAYER ) to its roadmap. Some of the respective assets headed north in double digits following the announcement.

It's a completely different story when Coinbase discontinues services with certain coins. At the end of last year, Muse Dao (MUSE), League of Kingdoms Arena (LOKA), and Package Centrifuge (WCFG) all fell sharply after being removed from the market.
