In the year OKX crypto exchange to list privacy tokens in early 2024
Global cryptocurrency exchange OKX will delist several popular privacy-focused cryptocurrencies in early 2024, including Monero (XMR).
OKX has officially announced that it will cancel several trading pairs that include Monero and Zcash (ZEC) and semi-private coins such as Dash (DASH) and Horizen (ZEN). The OKX exchange will eliminate 11 trading pairs that include those symbols on January 5, 2024, the announcement notes.
“To maintain a strong trading environment, we constantly monitor the performance of all listed trading pairs and regularly review their listing capabilities,” Oakes said in the announcement. The company added that the decision was made “based on user feedback” and the guidelines to list or hide the OKX token.
OKX also suspended deposits for certain privacy-related coins on December 27, including XMR, DASH, ZEC, and ZEN. OKX will block mining of XMR, DASH, ZEC and ZEN starting March 5, 2024. “We will continue to monitor all listed trading pairs and implement the cancellation/blocking mechanism as necessary,” he said.
The OKX crypto exchange is one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world and trades at least $3 billion in crypto per day, according to CoinGecko data. At the time of writing, OKX lists a total of 482 trading pairs, including four trading pairs that include Monero, two DASH pairs, three ZEC pairs, and two ZEN pairs.
OKX did not immediately respond to Cointelegraph's request for comment.

In announcing the latest listings, OKX joins a number of exchanges that have previously deleted or attempted to delete privacy or privacy-related signals. Cryptocurrency exchange Huyo announced plans to delist seven privacy-related coins in September 2022.
Binance announced plans to cancel all privacy tokens in countries such as France and Italy in May 2023, but ultimately reversed its decision in June.
At the time of writing, Binance lists four Monero trading pairs, including XMR/BTC, XMR/ETH/ XMR/USDT and XMR/BNB, and three ZEC trading pairs, according to CoinMarketCap data. According to CoinGecko data, Huobi also lists XMR/USDT and ZEC/USDT trading pairs.
