ToggleMonkey to gaming ecosystem cryptos are not ‘single-player' tokens – YGG exec
Crypto traders who want to make smart bets on game tokens should not just look at individual games, but rather the ecosystem as a whole, said Serge-Raymond Nzabandora, Yield Guild Games' corporate development and finance manager.
“These single-player games with token launchers, I think, are more forgettable, right? “Compared to the Ronins of the World and the Immutable Men of the World, you want to look at ecosystem players,” he told Web3 Gamer.
Ronin Network and Immovable Games are blockchain gaming platforms designed to support developers to build games in player-owned economies.
Nzabandora says both can “sustain these high market rates by finding new, original content.” Immutable (IMX) has a market cap of $3.48 billion, while Ronin (RON) has reached $848.38 million, according to CoinMarketCap data.
“Whether the Ronins or the Axies do a return or not, it still has pixels,” he says.
Pixel is a retro adventure game that is one of the largest Web3 games by daily active user count. It surpassed 1 million active users in May.
Nzabandora sees the rise of the AI memecoin as the need for narratives, which could lead to a “big push” for narratives.
He believes the current cycle will play out differently because “the market is smarter than the last market.” That said, funds and attention are now divided among many different tokens.
“The liquidity, the increase was not proportional to the increase in tokens, and therefore the mind share was fairly distributed,” he says.
“I think those who vote blindly, without much sense of the underlying tokonomics… see red.
Alistraza said her Web2 peers thought she was ‘doing something disgusting'.
Alistraza, a popular Web3 game analyst and content creator, jumped into traditional Web2 game content a year ago – and she still doesn't sit well with her former colleagues.
“My peers from Web2 think I'm doing something bad by supporting crypto and blockchain games,” he told Web3 Gamer at the recent YGG Play Summit in the Philippines.
“There's been a lot of scams in the space, so if you don't take the time to look at projects that are building something good, their attitude towards that is not good,” the 31-year-old said. los angeles.
Alistraza switched to gaming because she wanted to be rewarded for all the time and money she invested in gaming.
“I've saved thousands of dollars. [into games] She told Game 7 to explain why the DAO made the jump in April 2023, saying she could never pull it off.
Now she's getting paid for playing games, unlike her Web2 gamer friends who volunteer for multi-billion dollar corporations – and she's getting loads of views on her content too.

Crypto in the Philippines: Importance is an adoptive mother
As an ambassador for the sci-fi card game Parallels, she has built a strong online following with over 113,000 YouTube subscribers, over 16.5 million views on her videos, and 235,000 Twitch followers, all while creating fun and educational gaming content.
Although Alistraza is highly competitive, she prefers to create content to compete in gaming tournaments.
“I still enjoy competing, and I do a lot of it in Hearthstone,” she added, “but I think I've realized that what I love most is meeting people and having fun.”
“When you meet people, you're on camera, and I think that's really where I shine,” she says.
Alistrasza says that giving feedback will always keep you on track.
“Sometimes, when you're competing, you can lose right away, and you're completely out. But if you're an actor and a commentator, you can be there for the whole experience,” she says.
Web3 players have a coach? It's wild, but completely true.
Gaming competitions at conventions are more intense than you might expect. But the strangest part for outsiders? The players actually have coaches—just like a sports team or your fitness-obsessed spouse.
At the YGG Play Summit, Web3's game coach, Muka, described his job as “a respected project manager.”
“Being a trainer doesn't mean you come up with all the ideas,” said the former World of Warcraft 200 player.
He doesn't seem to have a strict training schedule like the players of Manchester United Football Club.
“It's not a very informal structure,” he laughs, explaining that it's an organic process when training parallels the aforementioned sci-fi card game.
“There is a time to have fun and have fun. You don't have to hit the gas, but when we hit the gas, you know, Discord calls that go on for hours during the day, people running around, running around, playing a lot of games, talking about ideas.”
He calls it “trial by fire” and says that when players have a new idea, they'd rather jump in and try it than think about the game.

“The players are there; they all have their own ideas and know what they want to do.
“It's about taking the ideas from the players' end and helping them shape those ideas together, creating alignment strategies, getting them to transfer their knowledge to others,” he explains.
“That's where the magic happens,” Mucka said.
“The feeling of playing with other people and trying to strategize and try to pull it off has always been the most exciting feeling for me,” he said.
As game coaches spend a week training their players before tournaments, Muka is unwilling to face that reality.
“I cannot measure it in hours; It would hurt me if I told you,” he laughs.
