Last week, Sony told Eurogamer that it was aware of the attack, but didn't believe other units were affected.

A hacker group known as Rhysida claimed responsibility for the attack and demanded a ransom of around $2 million in bitcoin within seven days before releasing the stolen data online.

Sony and Insonic do not appear to have paid the ransom, as the information was later leaked. About 2% of Insonic's data was sold to unknown buyers and the remaining 98% was publicly disclosed.
