Intel Corp. has completed its $5 billion stock sale to Nvidia, issuing approximately 215 million shares at $23.28 per share in a private placement transaction, according to a new SEC filing.
The sale is part of a multi-year collaboration between the two companies that combines custom data center CPUs and new PC chips based on Intel x86 designs with NVadia RTX GPU chiplets. Intel and Nvidia entered into a stock purchase agreement in mid-September.
Under the deal, Intel will manufacture the processors and Nvidia will integrate them into AI platforms spanning the hyperscale, enterprise and consumer markets. The effort aims to tightly connect Intel CPUs to NVIDIA's accelerated computing stack via NVLink.
Shares of Intel fell in premarket trading on Monday following the completion of the stock sale, according to Yahoo Finance data.
